I installed the game yesterday and played for 3 hours no problem getting to level 5. I come back today and click to play and get the error
"Your games for Windows - LIVE installation appears to be corrupted. Please try reinstalling" So i reinstall and do all the patching again. Now i click the play button and get the same message WTF. Can anyone tell me how to solve this issue?
|||Having the same problem, I've tried reinstalling both AOE Online and Games for Windows several times to no avail. I also tried doing full update scans from the AOE Online game client. Anybody had any luck fixing this?|||What operating system are you using? What are you system specs?|||
Here are mine:
Windows 7 Home 64-bit
AMD X4 970 Processor 3.50 GHz
AMD Radeon 6800 Series
8GB DDR3 RAM
ASUS M4A87TD EVO 870 Crossfire Motherboard
SATA III 7200 RPM 3.5" Hard Drive
Can you go into the game folder, find AOEOnline.exe, right click on the file and "Run as Administrator" and see if that corrects your issue.
Secondly, Can you click on options on the load screen and choose Full Scan
|||Tried scanning for updates using the Full Scan options a few times, unfortunately no dice.
Also tried running both GFW Live and AOEOnline.exe as administrator, same error message again. Right now I'm trying to uninstall and reinstall .Net framework 4, which I saw on the GFW support forums. Thanks for the help!
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Game for Windows Live, the .Net framework and AOE Online several times, each time checking for updates with the scan, and no luck. I also downloaded the Bulletstorm demo to see if the GFW client worked with that, and it worked just fine, so the problem seems to be with the AOE client.
One thing that I noticed after uninstalling GFW a few times was a "Games for Windows Live - Redistributable" program that, every time I try to remove it, says that it cannot find an "xliveredist.msi" file, and that it cannot complete the removal without this source file. I was thinking that this might have corrupted the installation, but I could be completely off as well.
Has anyone had a problem similar to this and figured out? Thanks all!
|||go into control panel and click add or remove programs.
search for aoeo and instead of clicking remove, click repair.
