You cannot visit this city because of your online safety settings.

So, my kid just signed in and picked up the new quests. When he tried to visit my town, it denied him.

While I'm Okay with him not being able to visit random people's towns, he should be able to visit mine and my wife's, who are listed as adults on our xbox live gold account.

I can absolutely not see the harm in visiting other people's cities

Overprotective?

You may want to modify the online safety settings for the account at Xbox.com. You should be able to set it so that he can only interact with people on his LIVE friends list.

Yeah, thedefault for a kids settings are normally very restrictive so they cant speak or make contact with random people. Make sure you have him added as a friend then edit his profile settings so he can interact with people on his freindlist|||Actually, I plan on spelling out obscenities using massive numbers of argos cows once I buy the full version, so this is probably wise of him.|||

But what about the children!? THE CHILDREN! Their fragile minds will burst into flames!

Hey look, I'm all for protective parents. (and no I'm not a parent)

I see nothing wrong with monitoring what your young kids do. I think that as they get older you should allow a little more freedom, but it is the duty of parents to protect their children, and that includes in what they see.

Perhaps you misunderstood, or I was not clear.

As of the original post, my son could not visit *any* other cities. This was a bit more restrictivethan we intended.

I have updated his settings now so that he should be able to visit cities of Friends.

He previously didn't game online except for silly flash games. He doesn't have any xbox friends, except for my wife and I. We will decide later if we want to change this.

I have the same issue. I am unable to see or visit the city of my son, and vice versa when we're both online and Friends within Live.

"Your gamer profile Online Safety Settings are set to block communications"

Unfortunately tweaking these in Family Center on the Windows machine, and xbox live is insanely difficult, and it doesn't seem to help...

Any further ideas?

Have you tried to manage both account online safety setting through Xbox.com?
