My Laptop is consuming more power while running this game.

Hi My laptop Core i5 2410M with Nvidia GPU 540M i am currently playing AOEIII settlers red alert EEIII on it. while i get alost2 hrs battery backup while playing AOE3 or settlers 6 . While playing AOE online i just get 56 minutes to 58 minutes. Could the staff produce more enegy efficient programming?

My laptop is consuming more power too and also my laptop is shotdown cuz of graphic card overheating.I can easly play all games with high graphic options except tht age of empires online.

i5 480M 2.66 (2.99 Turbo Boost)

4 gb ddr 3 ram

Ati Radeon HD 6550M 1gb

Something must be wrong with this game...

|||I'm no expert on computer specs at all, but this is an MMO game. MMO's in my experience take up more power then non MMO games due to the constant connection and data transfer. Compare you're battery life when playing a different MMO and see how it compares. AOE3 is not an MMO so I would think it's less taxing on the system.

I would just suggest turning down the graphics and turning on v-sync.

That might get you a few more minute of battery life.

I will admit, Age does use A LOT of resources to run. When you use more resources you will use up more battery life...

Problem I have is this.. In the closed beta I tested the game with a 5 year old laptop that did not experience overheating issues nor did it use battery life faster than it should. I do have a theory I'm going to bring up with the development team on overheating and excessive power consumption that may lead to not only minimum system requirements but also Maximum system requirements.

If my findings are correct I'm sure the development team will post my findings.
