I've played to level 3 and now my game keeps crashing.
The screen freezes and a loud constant 'ring' noise occurs.
Windows XP
Processor is Pent 4 3.2Ghz
Card is 8800 GTS
Ram is 4GB
I have the latest drivers for my video card.
My thought are the processor but why would it let me play up til now? :/
Same problem here. After 20 min or so the system crashes totally.
Vista
Quad Core Q8300 2.50Ghz
RAM 8 GB
Geforce GT 220
No dust in PC, latest drivers
I was going to purchase the special launch offer but im glad i didn't.
The game is unplayable and with zero support this looks like my AoEO career is over.
yupp...game keeps crashing...my hardware monitoring says 71°C on the gfxcard..maybe that is the issue.
But maybe not, but as I am writing this I am playing eveonline and the gfxcard is currently at 76°C
|||I have the same issue. Brand new top-of-the-line computer and Windows 7 Home Premium. This game had great potential; unfortunately, it doesn't work.|||same here :(|||I also am having crashing issues, the game works any where from 15 to 30 minutes and then crashes to desktop(4th time today). I updated my Nvidia graphics drivers and that still did not fix it. I play several other games and none of them crash, only Age of Empires Online does. Apparently I am not the only one with this issue. I have a newish pc running Win 7 home premium 64.
Intel i5-2500k
Asrock P67 extreme 4
Gigabyte GTX 560 ti (1024mb)
8 Gig ram
Please patch this game!
I have the same issue.
Someone pointed out earlier in the forums that this game's engine does not have a FPS cap so it will end up using more resources than it needs to run the game which is resulting in overheating the computer resulting in the Blackscreen crash.
Putting V-sync on may stop this crash, or at least delay it's occurance.
I suggest NOT PLAYING THIS GAME AT ALL, until these problems are addressed. An overheating computer can result in the DESTRUCTION of vital computer parts.
Dear AoE Team,
Ccould you please -at the very least- say something to this issue. And by saying I dont mean: Yeah please deinstall all .NET 4.0 Progs and use your newest drivers people.
It seems that not all people here run their systems with configurations from two years ago and I think it can not be real to say "Well our program does not run with normal "updated Windows computer" especially when the software mentioned is from the same company as the game.
I would like to play the game because I think it is a lot of fun. But it is not so much fun worth destroying my computer.
Thank you very much.
|||Same happens to me :(
Every 5-10 mins my game goes a black screen.
I'm also crashing with the "constant" tone but my screen doesn't go black it still shows the frozen screen...
I was hoping to find an answer so I could play tonight, but I'll have to wait and see what support comes up with...
|||I have the same problem as described above. This game is unplayable for me, I'm having buyers remorse right now.|||I'm having the same problem...I'm on the "Mow Em Down" level. I've tried it 3 times...after about 20 minutes the screen freezes (doesn't go black or to desktop) with a high pitch noise. I had played the first 2 levels for free and decided to buy the Greek Premium...20 minutes after buying it I'm having lock up problems and it looks like everyone else is also....Microsoft isnt saying anything??
|||The obvious thought would be that it's a sound card problem not a video problem. Try updating your sound card and motherboard drivers (especially the motherboard driver)|||
Same problem here. After around 20mins the game crashes, sometimes with weird sounds from my xonar soundcard.
My setup: Phenom 965 @ 990FX @ 560ti SLI
